In the fourth episode
of Got No Game with Paul Mecurio,
Paul takes on Race in Sports. Why do
certain races seem to dominate in certain sports? This long-asked question is
finally answered in a recently unearthed archival film which reveals how race
and sports play out in today's society. This latest episode of Got No Game
features an appearance by sportscaster and former tennis player Mary Carillo.

We shot this episode of Got No Game with Paul Mecurio about race in sports at the The Bronx Community College in New York City. The building was fantastic (take a look at the picture below). The amazing part is the place is still staffed with the original librarians. I had a great time with all the actors, the crew and the writers and my family who got to join me on the set, and it was a really cool experience to get to work with Mary Carillo who makes a cameo appearance in the episode. Check out a few photos from the shoot below and stay tuned for more behind the scenes pics. - Paul

This is a wide shot of the entire set and shoot from the 3rd level of this stunning 150-year old library. A good vantage point to egg people. I'm just saying.

Me with tennis champion and HBO Sports correspondent Mary Carillo on set. Mary played herself in the piece. We're in our 1950s costume. We make a good looking couple. Don't you think? Her hair is taller then me!

On set with my son Alex. Doesn't get much better than this. A quick break then my son had to get back to work holding my tumbler of scotch just out of camera range. Child labor laws don't apply on my shoots. PS: Pay no mind to the desk nameplate, it was part of the shoot!
My latest interview with the always funny Punchline Magazine is now out. I had a great time talking with Punchline about Got No Game with Paul Mecurio, my new series.
Punchline: A while back you produced a pilot called Sports Central. How did that show lead to HBO and Got No Game?
PM: Well, I'm basically a whore. There, you got it out of me. You're an intrepid reporter. Actually, HBO Sports' Ross Greenburg saw it and liked it, thought it was a great idea, and with the help of Kendall Reid, and their digital media department, we were able to produce this series. And there's just this feeling that this is a big part of our culture - sports - and nobody's satirizing it. And who better to satirize it than a guy who failed at every sport he ever tried?
Punchline: So you're not at all athletic?
PM: If you consider doing shots of Jack Daniels and smoking while you're doing sports athletic, I am a gold medalist. Curling is my sport, because curling for me is nothing more than bowling for people who can't bear to part with the ball.
